Who We Are
Who We Are
Arnold Anderson was a well-known Radio Sports Director for over 50 years at CKPC radio station in Brantford. Arnold dedicated his career to the recognition of all athletes from Brantford and Brant County, whether they were professional, school based or house league participants. . Before his passing in 1999, he requested that a legacy fund be formed so that no child would be denied from playing the sport of their choice because of finances. In 2000, a board of directors was formed and the Arnold Anderson Sport Fund was established. As of today, the original founding group has grown to 13 directors and 5 affiliate members.
The Fund organizers, (Minor Sports Association members, sportscasters and writers, Social Planning Council members, teachers, recreation specialists, community volunteers and members of City Council) were aware that, for economic reasons, there were many children in our community who were denied the opportunity to take part in organized sports and recreation programs. Participation in sports can have a lasting positive effect on children physically, mentally, socially, and intellectually.
The Board of Directors of the Arnold Anderson Sport Fund are committed to seeking out innovative ways to raise funds to support and sustain the goals and objectives of our organization – to make access to sport and recreation possible to all young people, regardless of their ability to pay.
All members of the Board and affiliate members are volunteers.
